On April 30, 2009, Hasbro would announce that they were partnering with Discovery Communications to relaunch Discovery Kids into a family-oriented TV network with programming based on Hasbro's IPs.[1] On July, It was announced that Margaret Loesch would be the CEO of the network.[2] The network is said to compete with Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network.[3]

On October 10, 2010, the network finally launched, bringing in shows such as Transformers Prime, GI Joe Renegades, and of course, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.
