Diane Duane (May 18, 1952) is an American writer of science-fiction and fantasy novels, most known for her work on Star Trek and her original series, Young Wizards. Duane was born in New York City and grew up in Roosevelt, Long Island. She studied nursing and practiced as a psychiatric nurse for two years until 1976, the year she would mvoe to California and worked as an assistant to David Gerrold. In 1979, her first novel was published by Dell Books and in 1981, began working as a freenlance writer.
She briefly wrote for Sunbow Productions and wrote episodes for My Little Pony and The Glo Friends.
