Diamond Tiara was an Earth Pony filly from Ponyville and the sole child of the Rich family. Along with her best friend, Silver Spoon, Tiara ruled the schoolyard of Ponyville Schoolhouse before she finally gave in and let her true nature shine, transforming herself into a caring, compassionate filly who would grow into a very important member of Ponyville society.
Diamond Tiara is the daughter of Filthy Rich and best friend of Silver Spoon. Tiara was very antagonistic towards the Cutie Mark Crusaders before revealing herself as an emotionally fragile little girl with great insecurities. Before her redemption, Tiara was very tyrannical and mean-spirited and had a very one-sided relationship with Silver Spoon, who idolized her greatly. In the end, she realized her special ability was her commanding presence, able to snap anyone else into line and get a job done, a tool she has begun to use for good.

The sole child of Filthy Rich and Spoiled Rich, Tiara grew up spoiled, but also insecure of herself as she was the sole representative of her family. From an early age, she became friends with Silver Spoon the two ruled Ponyville Schoolhouse as a pair of bullies. At sometime before the formation of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, the two received their Cutie Marks, with Tiara receiving hers later than Spoon.
Diamond Tiara is the sole child of Filthy Rich and Spoiled Rich respectively and best friend to Silver Spoon. She attends Ponyville's School House and is a student of Miss Cheerilee's classroom. Despite being a child, Tiara shows a bizarre level of cynical, artificial maturity, lacking the same childlike glee that the Cutie Mark Crusaders and even Silver Spoon shows. Diamond Tiara practically runs the schoolyard with an iron hoof, striking actual fear in all those who dare oppose her, all those except for the Cutie Mark Crusaders that is, who mostly find her annoying. Tiara has an unhealthy desire for power and control; likely stemming from her upbringing.

A little after Twilight moved into Ponyville, she hosted a cute-cenera to celebrate receiving her Cutie Mark, though her plan to rub it into the faces of other fillies were thwarted when ponies realized not having Cutie Marks was just as cool, if not cooler, as it meant they had infinite possibilities in their lives.
As the Rich family isn't just rich, but extremely important to Ponyville history and occasionally receives special gifts due to their continued contributions to the town, Diamond Tiara appears to believe she's held to a higher standard then the others. In spite of this, Cheerilee doesn't treat her any better then any other student for her social status, though believes her to be more mature then some of the others. Diamond Tiara briefly ran the school's newspaper and was just as tyrannical in that field as she is in others. She demanded that the three crusaders, who used the pen name "Gabby Gums" tell embarrassing stories or even make up lies in order to sell papers. This eventually backfired when word got out of her ways and she was promptly fired.

Sometime later, Diamond Tiara was selected by Cheerilee to become the new editor and chief of the Foal Free Press, much to her fellow staff members annoyance. Claiming the paper was a joke, she reformed the paper into being a more serious venture, reporting juicy think-pieces rather than "Namby Pamby" stories. Flexing her regime, she aggressively vetoed simple, cute stories such as histories and interviews and instead pushed for gossip.
Tiara celebrated her Cutie Mark in the episode "Call of the Cutie" with a "Cute-ceañera". She intended this to humiliated Apple Bloom, but it ended up uniting Apple Bloom with Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle, who would become her best friends.

About a year later, Babs Seed, the cousin of Apple Bloom came to Ponyville. Tiara and Silver Spoon managed to get the filly to ally herself with them rather than the Crusaders, as she was the bullied victim back in her hometown of Manehattan. After the Crusaders saved Babs', she broke off her friendship with Tiara an Silver Spoon, joining the Crusaders in their club.
In spite of all of her flaws, Diamond Tiara isn't a monster by any means. It's been shown that she really does love her parents, and they love her. When Diamond Tiara got lost out in the wilderness with the Crusaders, Silver Spoon and Snips and Snails, Tiara was willing to work together with them to ensure survival, albeit with apprehension. She even conceded that Snips and Snails were useful for something when she witnessed their advanced (by foal standards) knowledge of magic, capable of lighting a fire.

FamilyAdulthood
Personality
Abilities
Diamond Tiara is apart of the Rich Family, which goes back many generations. In many ways, the Rich family started Ponyville and helped it grow in the first years of its settlement. Tiara suffers from an unhealthy relationship with her mother, as she's a manipulative, overbearing and cares far to uch about social status, but Tiara is shown to be considerably closer with her father. She and her father has been seen to embrace and show more open affection towards one another. Her mother does still appear to love Tiara, but isn't nearly as open about it.

===Friends=Possessions==
Diamond Tiara is best friends for Silver Spoon. In spite of the twos generally rotten attitudes, the two care about each other and genuinely think each other as friends. Whenever Diamond Tiara is in danger, Silver Spoon shows the utmost concern for her and does everything in her power to protect her friend. Although it's one-sided, Snips and Snails care about her as well, as they risked their lives to protect Tiara's while they were lost in the mountains. Silver Spoon briefly disowned Tiara after she continued to disrespect her, which left Tiara heartbroken. After Tiara realized what she was doing wasn't true to herself and began to act like the pony she actually was - a commanding, but caring one, she and Silver Spoon only grew closer as friends.

Behind the scenes
Jobs
Portrayal
Tiara once "worked" as the chief editor of Ponyville Schoolhouse's Newspaper Division, but was quickly "fired" for abusing the system by Cheerilee.
Tiara's voice is portrayed by Chantal Strand, a Canadian actress, singer and writer who is also known for dubbing various anime roles, such as appearing in Gundam. Due to her performance as the character, Strand has appeared at Brony conventions, such as Everfree Northwest. In 2014, prior to the airing of "Crusaders of the Lost Mark", Strand noted on her Facebook that fans would likely be seeing a "new side" of Tiara, hinting at her redemption arc within the episode.

Bizarrely enough, a Reindeer appearing almost exactly like Tiara appeared in the book The Flying Reindeer, in which she antagonized Rainbow for being able to fly. Fittingly enough, she was friends with a reindeer who resembled Silver Spoon.

Personality==Singers==
Initially, Diamond Tiara was a ruthless and cunning filly. She practically ruled her peers as if she was an overbearing boss (which in some stories, she was.). Her personality was a reflection of her mothers, shallow, manipulative and uncaring. Tiara was overwhelmingly arrogant in her abilities, despite lacking any truly notable talents or abilities. She used to print pictures of herself to place around, often showing her in a controlling manner. Tiara was generally feared among her classmates, but they pretended to be her friend anyway. As such, Tiara was extremely popular and could sway the opinions of others in her class very easily, though lacked much genuine friendships. Like her parents, Tiara was incredibly uptight, not liking to get dirty and apparently refused to eat junk food as it was beneath her. In spite of her spoiled-rotten behavior, Tiara was not a bad pony at heart and did show a softer side from time to time. She did truly appreciate Silver Spoon as a friend and wasn't so pompous that she couldn't see that Snips and Snails weren't worthless.

Storyline and arc
It was shown that deep down, Tiara was in actuality, a kind filly who had to put up a facade of pompous self-importance to be praised by her mother, who verbally abused and bullied her if she showed weakness. Tiara has shown a degree of self-loathing at times, believing that her cutie mark was a waste and that her life has no surprises left in it. After opening up to the Cutie Mark Crusaders and realizing what it was like to be truly loved by others, Tiara changed her ways and became the filly she truly was. Kind, caring and compassionate. Tiara also realized what her true talent was, to use her commanding status to get work done and help others, rather then to be a self-serving brat.
