'''Derpy''' is a derp. That much is clear. This was a joke that was much funnier in [[2012]]. Whether you know her as '''Muffins''' or '''Ditzy Doo''', it's clear she has transcended her meme status tois becomeundoubtable one of [[Generation 4]]s most enduring supporting characters and running jokesgags. Dumb and sweet is about the best way Derpy can be described, she always tries to be helpful, but rarely succeeds in that regard. She can be frustratingly dim and incompetent at her job as a mail carrier, destructive as a weather worker, and chaotic as a regular citizen but nonetheless is doggedly loyal to her friends and is unflinchingly kind, good-natured and friendlysweet to all others. Due to her big heart, Derpy has become a beloved fixture of [[Ponyville]] and even some of its grumpiest residents consider her a loved one.
 
Derpy is often associated with [[Rainbow Dash]] and [[Doctor Hooves]], the former being a regular co-worker of hers and the latter seemingly being her closest friend. She is sometimes considered an older relative of [[Dinky Doo]] by fans, but this has never been collaborated in canon. In ''[[Equestria Girls]]'', she has a friendship with {{EQG|Bulk Biceps}}. In the ''[[My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (TV series)|My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic]]'' canon, she works at the [[Ponyville Post Office]] and lives with [[Doctor's Quarters|Doctor Hooves]].
