A prequel series set in pre-unification [[Equestria]], ''Legends of Magic'' explores the early lives and subsequent adventures of the [[Pillars of Equestria]] and how they became heroes.
The series has a somewhat darker tone than most of ''[[My Little Pony]]'' media, with depictions of death and suffering, especially in the later half of the run.
