Being his cousin, Eris is directly related to him by "blood", or whatever genealogical system members of her race belong to. [[Mirror-Universe\|The world]] in which Eris resided eventually came under the dominion of the [[Pony of Shadows]], formerly the [[Stygian (Mirror-Universe)\|Stygian of that world]]. Seeking to harness the powers of one version or another of the sisters [[Princess Celestia]] and [[Princess Luna]], he asked Eris for her assistance. When she refused, he overpowered her and extracted her [[Chaos Magic]] for his own use. Eventually, he succeeded in capturing a Celestia and a Luna whom he corrupted into [[Daybreaker (Mirror-Universe)\|Daybreaker]] and [[Nightmare Moon (Mirror-Universe)\|Nightmare Moon]]. At some point in the past, Eris conquered the Equestria of her world with the aid of the Pony of Shadows. Together, the two reduced [[Princess Celestia (Eris's dimension)\|Princess Celestia]] into a bestial and savage being, which Eris adopted to be her own "pet". After {{FIM\|Princess Luna}} and [[Stygian]] broke into her palace, Eris trapped Luna in a cage and used the [[Staff of Sacanas]] to absorb her power, reducing her into a powerless state. Eris's plan was a simple one, to use the power of Luna to bring untold chaos to the world. With control over the moon, Eris would be able to control dreams and nightmares and would use that very power to make it so ponies would never sleep ever again. Nightmare Moon eventually rebelled against her master and was destroyed by him and Daybreaker. Fearing another such incident, the Pony of Shadows turned to Eris. At his bidding, she created a collar that would enforce Daybreaker’s obedience. However, Eris ensured that the collar forced Daybreaker to do ''her'' bidding, and promptly turned on and defeated her captor. ''Under construction'' Eris, or else an alternate version of her, later entered the service of either the Pony of Shadows who had once captured her or an identical alternate version. At his bidding, she and [[Well-to-Do]] engaged [[Team Honesty]] while others of his minions battled the many [[Elements of Harmony]] affiliated heroes of [[Equestria]].
