''Friendship is Magic'' is often accredited to showrunner [[Lauren Faust]], who previously wrote ''[[My Little Pony Adventures]]'', the 'bible' the series was based off of. The show aired in [[2010]] to surprisingly acclaim for teenage-to-adult males due to its 'grimdark' nature and focus on characters and adventures. In [[2012]], the show received a [[My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (comic book)|comic book series]], which has outlated the series itself, and in [[2014]], the series received another spin-off in the form of ''[[Equestria Girls]]''. After 9 seasons, the show ended in 2019, but gained another spin-off show, ''[[My Little Pony: Pony Life]]''.
