My Little Pony: Friendship in Disguise is the 11th comic spin-off series to come off the Friendship is Magic comic book series that is set to begin release in May of 2020. It is the first spin-off to be a crossover series, and aside from non-canonical one-shots such as "When Worlds Collide", artworks and advertisements, is the first real crossover the franchise has had. It is set for a 4-issue run.

Priscilla Tramontano, a colorist who was set to work on the now canceled Transformers x My Little Pony series, is set to work as an illustrator for Friendship in Disguise.

Synopsis

Queen Chrysalis attempts to use a spell to search for her kind, but accidentally connects with a space bridge and pulls the Autobots and Decepticons into Equestria. As a result, Optimus Prime and Twilight Sparkle must work to stop the combined threat of the Changelings and the Decepticons.

Creative team

The creative team for Friendship in Disguise is primarily Transformers writers and artist. Of the three writers, Ian Flynn and James Asmus who previously wrote My Little Pony: Feats of Friendship and Chaos Theory respectively represents the My Little Pony side, with Sam Maggs being a writer for BioWare, a video game studio. In terms of artists, only Tony Fleecs represents the My Little Pony side, and does the cover art for all four issues thus far. Jack Lawrence, Priscilla Tramontano, Casey W. Coller and Sara Pitre-Durocher, all artists known for Transformers work, are also set to do work.

The series currently has the largest creative team out of any Friendship is Magic comic book to date.
