Mr. Soot was the downtrodden and tired father of Selfie, this man lived in a small house in Lump of coal town with his wife. He was a hard working miner, but rarely spoke. He seemed to be the more timid, easily scared of the two parents, though it could simply be because Twilight nearly did hit him with a frying pan by accident.
