A '''forest''' is a type of [[woodland]] made up of [[tree]]s and other [[flora]], as well as [[fauna]]. Forests are typically not [[places of settlement]], but a few settlements have been built in forests, such as [[Thicket]] and the [[Kirin village]].
Forest existed throughout [[Ponyland]], [[Greater Equestria]] and {{EQG|Equestria|the human world}} and many other realms. In Generation 1 stories, forest were often dark, foreboding places such as the [[Mystic Forest]] or the [[Gloomy Glade]], this tradition carried over into ''[[My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic]]'', with the mysterious [[Everfree Forest]] filled with dangerous creatures. In ''[[Equestria Girls]]'', given the more industrial setting, natural landforms as a whole were rarely explored, though its equivalent of the {{EQG|Everfree Forest}} was depicted as a far more peaceful and serene place that was home to [[Camp Everfree]]
