'''Equestria''' was a [[country]] and an [[Timeline (Friendship is Magic)|ancient]] [[kingdom]] [[Geography of Equestria|located]] on [[Greater Equestria]] on the [[planet]] of [[Earth (Friendship is Magic)|Earth]]. The {{FIM|pony}} kingdom [[border|bordered]]ed [[Yakyakistan]], [[Crystal Empire|The Crystal Empire]] and [[Mysterious South|the mysterious South]]. To the east of the kingdom lied the [[Griffon continent]] and [[Dragon-Kirin island]] and to the west lies [[Unexplored West|lands left yet unexplored]]. Equestria is shown to be a revered and in some cases, feared kingdom due to its mighty denizens and even mightier [[Monarchs of Equestria|rulers]].

Despite the friendship shared by the three tribes, much of Equestria was still split in the three sides, with pony kinds sticking to themselves. Although communication between the kinds was rare, it was usually not looked down upon, but prejudice against kinds were not out of the ordinary either. Books were written about the evil of Pegasus<ref> name="[[The Fall of Sunset Shimmer]]TFOSS"</ref> while unicorns were often considered weaklings.<ref>{{C|LOM|8}}</ref>

Artworks, such as paintings, sculptures and illustrated drawings had a strong history and tradition in Equestria. Ponies, such as [[Leadwing]],<ref name = "FIM9">{{C|FIM|9|''Zen and the Art of Gazebo Repair'' - Part 1}}</ref> [[Schulz]],<ref name = "FIM42">{{C|FIM|42|"A Pinkie Pie Story That Pinkie Pie Kinda Sorta Remembers"}}</ref>, [[Mignola]]<ref name = "FIM42"/> and even dragons like [[Scaly Sue]]<ref name = "FF14">{{C|FF|14|''Princess Luna and Spike''}}</ref> were able seemingly make a living off their artistic careers. There were many art museums across Equestria, most notably, the [[Manehattan Museum of Art]] in the city of [[Manehattan]].<ref name = "FIM21">{{C|FIM|21|''Manehattan Mysteries'' - Part 1}}</ref> Likewise, their were contests and shows, such as [[Princess Celestia's Extreme Art Contest]], where encouraged ponies to volunteer to display their skills. Arguably the greatest accomplishment in Equestrian architecture and building history was the [[Friendship Express]], a massive, multi-continental railway that connected not just nearly every single settlement in Equestria, but some beyond such as [[Griffonstone]]<ref name = "TLTOG">{{CAR|FIM|The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone}}</ref> and [[Mount Aris]],<ref name = "SAOT">{{CAR|FIM|Surf and/or Turf}}</ref>, both of which are entire continents away from Equestria.<ref name = "MAP">[[Map of Equestria]]</ref> Virtually every town has its own unique train station<ref name = "MAP"/> and even some unpopulated regions such as [[Tenochtitlan]] appear to have their own.<ref name = "FF32">{{C|FF|32|''Fluttershy and Daring Do''}}</ref> Massive [[bridge]]s and presumably artificial caves were created and carved through solid mountain to make the express way work,<ref name = "MAP"/>, and it has proven to be incredibly effective. Not just has this system proven to be incredibly useful in keeping towns connected and allowing for ponies to constantly travel between settlements in a quick pace,<ref name = "OAB">{{CAR|FIM|Over a Barrel}}</ref>, but has proven invaluable to the defense of Equestria, allowing ponies to be transported to safe spaces during times of crises, as seen when [[Accord]] nearly conquered Equestria.<ref name = "FIM50">{{C|FIM|50|''ACCORD'' - Part 3}}</ref>

Many settlements have locally important structures without much importance to the rest of Equestria. Some notably important of this locations include the [[Space Needle]] of [[Seaddle]],<ref name = "FIM30">{{CAR|FIM|30}} {{CN|[[Phoenix Comics]] variant cover}}</ref>, the [[Boxing Statue]] of [[Fillydelphia]],<ref name = "FIM65">{{C|FIM|65|''Queen for One Less Day''}}</ref>, the [[Hope Hollow Rainbow|Rainbow]] of [[Hope Hollow]]<ref name = "RAINBOW">''[[My Little Pony: Rainbow Roadtrip]]''</ref> and the [[Statue of Liberty]] in Manehattan.<ref name = "TGMP">{{CAR|FIM|The Gift of Maud Pie}}</ref> Some of these structures served as tourist attractions to some extent, like the [[Equestria's Largest Ball of Yarn]].<ref name = "FF8"/>
