Originally an innocent and quiet bystander to the adventures had in Ponyville, Derpy would eventually find herself involved in the chaos in one way or another. From getting captured by a [[Changeling]] to playing a major role in the [[Battle for Ponyville]], Derpy has proven herself to be brave, tough and heroic in her own, derpy way. Derpy can be best described as "lovable". In spite of her flaws, she always tries her best with a happy smile stretched across her face and a cheerful disposition. She works as a Mailmare and is among the more skilled fillers in Ponyville, though is usually seen as an idiot due to her dim nature. That reputation isn't undeserved however, as Derpy tends to make things worse, but never intentionally so. A sweet pegasus, Derpy Hooves is shown to be a brave, kind and heroic mare in her own right, rushing to protect ponies at the [[Crystal Empire]] when an ice cloud threatened to crush them and fought in the [[Battle for Ponyville]] in order to protect her town. Derpy works as a mailmare, a job that while she doesn't do very well, has kept it for a couple years at least. Like other pegasus, Derpy often helps out in long scale weather projects, such as the time when she helped wrap up winter during "[[Winter Wrap Up]]" or when she helped in creating a tornado in "[[Hurricane Fluttershy]]". Derpy has been shown to have a surprisingly active social life, or at least a sociable life. Derpy clearly has a deep amount of respect for Dash and seems to look up to her as a role model of sorts.
