A shred-off is a musical duel between two individuals, typically fought with guitar skills.
Rainbow Dash and Trixie Lulamoon engaged in a shred-off to see who could buy the double-neck guitar at the music store. Though Dash won thanks to her magic powers, she ultimately decided to not buy the guitar and instead bought the one the one she was already using.
