Sir Hugonaut was the former knight of his land, before his retirement and marriage to Princess Aline.

History

Hugonaut apparently went on all sorts of misadventures in his younger years, so much so that the fairy Emelita grew worried that his adventurous life would be bad for Aline. Whatever the case may be, the two got married and eventually, Hugonauts role was passed down to Squire Alonzo instead.

While his personality wasn't very well conveyed, he believed that old men like him were not cut out for knightly duties. His wizard, Mothert more-or-less confirmed that Hugonaut was a good, hardworking man when he passed down his posistion to Alonzo, stating that true knights had good, stout hearts.
