João Gilberto Prado Pereira de Oliveira (June 10, 1931) is a Brazilian songwriter, guitarist, singer who pioneered the genre of Bossa Nova in the 1950s.
In 1963, he and Stan Getz would write the song, The Girl from Ipanema, a song that would later be featured in My Little Pony: The Movie.
