In her youth, Twilight was shown to be a hard-working, good-natured, academic and compassionate young mare. Even before her move to Ponyville, she was shown to make friends fast, but closed her heart to many, focusing on her studying and work. During her stay at Princess Celestia's School For Gifted Unicorns, she developed meaningful relationships with Lyra Heartstrings, Minuette, Lemon Hearts and Moon Dancer
