Skipper Sails was a pirate Earth Pony Mare and captain of her own crew. She was good friends with Cobalt Cloudhunter, a blue Hippogriff and Whiskers, a cat.

History

On a bright blue day during the Storm King's conquests, Skipper Sails was sailing her ship when bright smoke filled the skies. As her ship began to crash, Skipper was saved by her friend, Cobalt Cloundhunter. After she was saved, her friends Cobalt and Whiskers managed to get the properer of her ship working again. The levity didn't last long as the crew were forced to abandon ship before long. Whiskers pointed towards another ship off the distance for help, believing it would save them.

As it turned out, the other ship was in fact, a pirate ship captioned by Captain Rosella. The ship was no other than the infamous Knife's edge, adorned with its black and horrible flag. They prepared to jump on a life boat, but it was to late. Before long, Skipper found herself aboard the ship alongside her crew as they confronted the icy Captain Rosella.

Skipper came in contact with the crew of lizardfolk, who looked on them with expected eyes, wanting treasure for saving them. Skipper and her crew however didn't have much to offer aside from a rusty old wrench. Threatening to "un-rescue" them, Captain Rosella's threats were cut short when a massive storm struck. Off in the distance the pirates saw upon a silver and electric blue pirate ship known as the "Oncoming Storm". The lightning never stopped. In awe of the ship, Skipper declined walking the plank and suggested they should team up with Knive's Edge.

Personality

Adventurous and brave, Skipper was shown to be not-very-feminine. She didn't like being called "ma'am", and was rather vulgar, using slang like "flying feathers" to show her annoyance. She did have a more honorable and caring side, as shown in her affectionate interactions with Cobalt Cloudhunter. To her friends, Skipper was warm and caring, and to her enemies, Skipper was fairly pragmatic and logical, but not cruel. She understood the value of teaming up for the greater good and offered her hoof in friendship towards Captain Rosella, at least until they get away from the Storm Empire.

Behind the scenes

Skipper Sails was created by Zak Barouh to serve as an example character in the story Open Skies to give players a feel for the story telling experience of Tails of Equestria.
