Ocean Flow was a female Hippogriff turned Seapony and the sister of Queen Novo.

Biography

At an unknown point during or before the Era of Twilight, Ocean Flow married Sky Beak, and the couple had two children: their daughter Silverstream and their son Terramar. After the Storm King was defeated and Mount Aris was regained, Sky Beak was among those who chose to return to life as a Hippogriff rather than remaining as a Seapony in Seaquestria. He was joined in this by Silverstream and a number of other relatives, while Ocean Flow preferred to remain underwater. This separation didn't cause any enmity in the family, but Terramar-unbeknownst to his parents-felt torn between the two homes his family had chosen.

When Twilight Sparkle and the Cutie Mark Crusaders came to visit Mount Aris and Seaquestria, Terramar brought them to visit his mother at her home and get her signature on a permission slip for Silverstream. Ocean Flow was delighted to see her son, whom she insisted stay for dinner, and thrilled when he introduced his guests. She was quick to make the Equestrians feel welcome, even offering to show them her children's baby pictures, much to Terramar's horror. Later, Ocean Flow and several other seaponies came to the surface near Mount Aris beach to invite Twilight to an arts-and-crafts session.

Ocean Flow's party happened to arrive at the same time as a group of Hippogriffs led by Sky Beak; the pleasantly surprised couple soon began talking. Other Hippogriffs and Seaponies soon joined in, leading to an impromptu picnic on the beach. Twilight and her companions took advantage of the opportunity to bring Ocean Flow and Sky Beak up to speed on their son's dilemma. Ocean Flow and her husband were quick to reassure Terramar that there was no need to him to choose between either of his two homes, and that they were happy to have him continue traveling between them.

Ocean Flow would later be called upon to sign another permission slip, this time to allow Silverstream to return to Ponyville ahead of the upcoming term at the School of Friendship. After Silverstream presented her reasons for wanting to do so, Ocean Flow, her husband, and Terramar willingly signed and were thanked enthusiastically by their daughter and sister. Later, when Silverstream went missing, Ocean Flow and her husband coordinated a widespread search for their daughter. When the Legion of Doom plunged Equestria into the Apocalypse, Ocean Flow was present as Silverstream appealed to her people in Seaquestria to help their pony allies.
