Maud Pie is an educator, museum worker, and student. Being the older sister of Pinkie Pie, she is a good friend of the Equestria Girls and an active member in her community, being apart of plays and performing a series of lectors on paleontology.

History

Maud works at the Canterlot Natural History Museum and attends Canterlot High School, though may have since graduated given the end of the school year. She's the eldest daughter in the Pie family and lives with the rest of her family. She's close with her family, or at least with her sister, Pinkie Pie. She has a MyStable account and routinely posts on Pinkie Pie's posts. In spite of being hardy, she found the notion of pizza grease dripping on to her rather gross, but put up with it anyway.

Personality

Many people find it hard to believe Maud is Pinkie's sister.[1] A stoic young woman, Maud is honest and speaks in a slow, low energy way. She does however, have a strong sense of humor and likes to joke around, as seen in her joke-filled Rock Talks with Maud, though few find her jokes particularly funny. She's very kind-hearted and tries to be helpful when she can, but tends to annoy people with her slow talking nature. She's been shown to be a loving older sister to Pinkie Pie and the two have a very close relationship. Pinkie doesn't appear to be at all bothered by her personality and is always friendly and kind to her.

Behind the scenes

Maud's character was modified somewhat to fit the more grounded setting of Equestria Girls. Her adventurous side was removed, or at least, never expanded upon, and her interests and occupations were expanded to include paleontology and teaching. As the original Maud was in her mid-t-late 20s, Equestria Girls Maud was rewritten to be in her late teens, still going to high school, but having an above-entry-level job.
