Iron Pony is a title that represents a high level of athletism, strength and determination in whoever holds it. The title doesn't appear to be an officially regulated title, and may in fact simply be in fact a title created by the residents of Ponyville as a pseudo-official local title. The title is awarded to those who win Iron Pony competitions. The only own bearer of the title was Rainbow Dash, who took the title very seriously, to the point where she charged Discord chanting that she was the Iron Pony and thus, couldn't lose.
It's unknown if the title has any connection to the superhero, Iron Pony.
