General Seaspray was a Hippogriff and general of Queen Novo's Hippogriff Royal Navy.

Biography

After Twilight Sparkle founded the School of Friendship and reached out to various non-pony races to invite them to send students, Seaspray was sent to the school to escort Silverstream, Queen Novo's niece. He later attended Friends and Family Day with other representatives. However, when Chancellor Neighsay spoke insultingly towards them, Seaspray and his various counterparts collected their respective students and left. Later, Applejack visited Seaspray and Sky Beak, Silverstream's father, on Mount Aris in hopes of convincing them to allow Silverstream to return to the school.

However, Seaspray informed Applejack that Silverstream had gone missing, and traveled to Canterlot to meet with Princess Celestia, Twilight, and the other species representatives. Having learned that all of the non-pony students had disappeared, Seaspray explained that they had left notes explaining that they had befriended each other and had no wish to be separated. Seaspray's primary concern, however, was for the absence of his queen's niece, and he warned that the Hippogriffs would take drastic action in the event she wasn't located soon. Fortunately, the Mane Six were able to locate the students and bring them back to the school, sending letters to each representative in order to have them meet there.

Chancellor Neighsay arrived at the same time, and quickly angered Seaspray and the others with more anti-non-pony rhetoric as he opposed Twilight's decision to reopen the school. Seaspray and his counterparts angrily advanced on the unicorn, but Celestia convinced them to hear Twilight out. The frustrated chancellor departed, and Silverstream and her new friends expressed their desire to remain at the school in song. Seaspray and the other representatives were thus convinced to allow their wards to return to the school, and the general quickly expressed interest in being shown around by Silverstream.

Seaspray later welcomed Rockhoof as a sailor in the Hippogriff Navy and commanded the ship aboard which the famed member of the Pillars of Old Equestria was to serve. The vessel ran into a fog bank, and Seaspray ordered a halt; however, when Rockhoof suggested navigating using the constellation O'Bridle's Pelt, Seaspray instructed his crew to follow Rockhoof's directions. Unfortunately, due to the movement of stars in the centuries Rockhoof had been absent, following the constellation caused the ship to crash into a rock formation. Evidently fearing future such trouble, Seaspray reluctantly, though cordially, dismissed Rockhoof from service in the navy.

When the first Feats of Friendship were held, Seaspray was among the attendees of the official opening ceremonies. General Seapsray was later among the many allies who gathered to fight in the final battle with the Legion of Doom. He remained over the hill from which the allied force made its charge, presumably serving as commander of the Hippogriff combatants due to the absence of Queen Novo or any other members of the royal family of Hippogriffia. Following the victory, he was among the many attendees of the Coronation of Twilight Sparkle as Queen of Equestria.

Personality

Seaspray was kindly in nature, sympathizing with Rockhoof's difficulty in adjusting to live in modern Equestria after his own experiences returning to life above the sea.
