Equestria Girls (group)

The Equestria Girls are a group of 7-8 friends, depending on whether you count Princess Twilight, seven of whom live in Canterlot. The group is known by a number of other, unofficial names such as the Humane Seven or the Mane Seven. Like the Mane Six, they are a team dedicated to good, though are somewhat less adventurous, but no less heroic and kind. Members include...

• Sci-Twi, exchange student from the prestigious Crystal Prep Academy
• Rarity, success-minded fashionista and designer
• Applejack, rustic and kind farmer from Sweet Apple Acres
• Pinkie Pie, eccentric and sweet party-organizer brimming with unique talents
• Rainbow Dash, competitive athlete whose secretly a huge softy
• Fluttershy, timid but gentle caretaker of animals with a huge heart

Collectively, the group have been actresses in plays and even films, athletes, and musicians who form the band, The Rainbooms. Friends of the group include the Canterlot Movie Club, Flash Drive, and of course relatives such as Big McIntosh and Maud Pie. Rivals and former enemies include Trixie Lulamoon and Wallflower Blush.

Behind the scenes

The group fulfills the My Little Pony tradition established since My Little Pony Tales of a core friend circle as the franchises' main characters and can be considered an incarnation of the Mane Six. The groups' first appearance was in My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, with their core roster not being fulfilled until Equestria Girls: Friendship Games. Chronologically, their first appearance was in the comic story, "Equestria Girls", which featured their chronicled their first encounters with one another.
