Dollars were a form of currency used by Humans in the land of Equestria. Not much of the currency is known, but humans are to typically earn dollars by working in stores and other work places, such as restaurants and schools.

When saving up for their fund raising project, the Equestria Girls were exchanging services such as car washing for dollars.

Spike spent 200 dollars on a "deluxe package" of goods for his vlog series, Fancy Bench Unboxing with Spike, but since he spent so much money, Twilight Sparkle made him return it.
