David Bowie (January 8, 1947 –January 10, 2016) was an English singer.
Influence on My Little Pony
A small, but major aspect of the Friendship is Magic mythos was based around the universe and music of David Bowie. That aspect was the Diamond Dog lore. The name "Diamond Dog" itself is derived from his album, Diamond Dogs. Within the Diamond Dogs exist two legendary figures named Ziggy and Stardust respectively. The current ruler of the Diamond Dogs is modeled after Bowie himself, though his persona seems starkly different than Bowie's.
