Crystal Empire Guardpony was a Crystal Pony stallion and member of the Crystal Guard.

History

This Guardspony featured prominently in the Crystal Guard's security efforts and search for a Changeling that had been spotted in the Crystal Empire. This included confronting Twilight Sparkle, Starlight Glimmer, and Spike when they arrived at the Crystal Castle for a visit with Princess Cadance, Shining Armor, and Flurry Heart. Later, he was one of several guards to accompany Spike out into the Frozen Wastes in search of the Changeling. He questioned Spike upon their return to the empire, and briefly mistook Spike's suggestion that the Changeling could be a friend for a joke, which he found hilarious.

Shining Armor put an end to the laughter, refusing to even consider the possibility of a Changeling who wasn't evil after his previous experiences. The Guardspony would later be among the Crystal Ponies Spike introduced to his new friend, Crystal Hoof, whom he found to be quite engaging. The Guardspony was also present in the Crystal Castle throne room when Spike presented his new friend to the royals, and was thus witness to Crystal Hoof being revealed as the Changeling, Thorax. When the Crystal Guards stepped up their patrol efforts in the wake of this encounter, the Guardspony suggested that Spike search for the "real" Crystal Hoof, whom he believed the Changeling had abducted and impersonated.

Unbeknownst to anypony, Thorax had been Crystal Hoof all along, impersonating a Crystal Pony at Spike's suggestion as a prelude to introducing his true self to the Crystal Ponies. When this backfired, Spike failed to stand up for his new friend, but later found Thorax and apologized to him before bringing him back to the Empire. The Guardspony was among those present when Spike presented his friend and pleaded with the ponies on Thorax's behalf. His words persuaded Twilight, who helped convince the others to judge Thorax for who, and not what, he was; the Guardspony soon led the others in celebrating their hero, Spike, and their new friend, Thorax.
