Chupacabras

Chupacabra (literally "goat-sucker" in Spanish) were a species of goat-eating creatures who lived in heavily forested areas, such as the Forest of Leota. Although Twilight claimed they only ate goats, Chupacabra were apparently not bright enough to tell the difference between goats and ponies with sticks in their manes, vaguely looking like goat horns.

Although Fluttershy was scared of it, she claimed that seeing them brutally fight off their natural enemies, the Jackalope, was fascinating.

Notes

  • The design for the Chupacabra seems to be a fusion of the Puerto Rican and Texan versions of the creatures, but leans more on the Texan side. As such, its more mammalian with a canine-like quality to it, but also appears somethat feline. The Puerto Rican version is more-so represented by its reptilian scaling and green eyes.
  • In terms of behavior, it also appears to be more based off the Texan version. While reports of the original creature in Puerto Rica tend to be vague, they tend to imply an intelligent creature, while this one was dumb.
